Subspace vs. Slavespace

One of the first things I learned as a new submissive to the BDSM scene was that the most desired place to reach during a scene was "subspace." The first time I found myself in subspace, I realized why everyone was so eager to get there. The physiological and psychological descent from total consciousness to the relaxing, uninhibited plane that is sub-space was mind-blowing - indeed, mind-expanding - especially the first time it happened. Like most new submissives, I realized I was on to something and began a pursuit of this state of being that engulfed most of my weekends and my free time thoughts. Not only could I indulge the fantasies of a Dominant's control, fantasies I had carried since childhood, but now I could expand upon them. I could take the fantasies one step further. In subspace, I could let myself go altogether - become totally engrossed in a shameless display of wanton sexuality in the midst of a meditative state of relaxation, and do so with the blessing, the approval and the encouragement of those around me.

The Beauty Of Submitting In a BDSM
Relationship Submissive vs. Slave

In reality you cannot 'explain' it, you have to show it, If you are free and stronger, and more 'you' as a result of your submission to the Dominant who enables that in you, it is totally apparent and explanation becomes over time a moot point. People outside this lifestyle cannot fathom the speaking of it, simply because it is not within the realm of their experience, but something they see will draw them to their own conclusions.

Why A Masochist

In thinking about masochism I have wondered why I enjoy the sensation of pain. For me, it makes me feel alive. Our bodies function so smoothly that vital things (such as breathing) are only noticed when they're *not* functioning, or functioning badly. Pain is a sort of checking if everything is still there, and functioning properly. Pain is what the doctors apply to babies to welcome them to this world. It is a good sensation to actually feel your heart beating, and that is what pain, fear, excitement, etc. cause.

Obedience

Obedience is basically doing what you are told to do. Interesting enough it seems to me that many take this to mean that submissives are mindless robots who do everything they are told, all the time, without any thought for themselves. (blind obedience) This is not true. Being obedient, by no means, says that you can't think for yourself, question things or have negative feelings about things. When one speaks of obedience they do not mean blind obedience.

The Doctrine Of The Unowned Submissive

For the unowned or unaccompanied submissive, the BDSM world, or “lifestyle” as it is commonly referred to by it’s practitioners, is ripe with pitfalls and dangers. The “Doctrine of the Unowned Submissive” has been designed to minimize those pitfalls by giving the unowned submissive a road map through the BDSM fog. What follows here is by no means a hard and fast set of rules to be followed religiously. The Doctrine is a guideline. It is a generic tool to help unowned submissives find their way safely in what can be a very harsh environment.
